The Times Are a-Changing...

Well, it’s Back to School time here in the Cliff and, as it turns out, it’s also time for some big changes at CliffDweller as well.

This month, we introduce you to the University of North Texas Dallas Campus, hopefully soon to be Oak Cliff’s first stand-alone University. You may be surprised at how many great programs they offer.

We also bring you two features close to our heart. First, the Happy Bullets, a favorite local band, reports on their cross-country roadtrip both to rock a few states and to hunt down the grave of Oak Cliff’s original developer, T. L. Marsalis. And second, we profile Winnetka Heights resident and house-renovator, Rob Romano. I have called Romano the “King of Winnetka Heights” for years, and I hope you enjoy learning about his love and attention to one of Oak Cliff’s best-loved historic neighborhoods.

And as I close this August issue, I will also be signing off as your loyal editor. The Advocate Magazines have purchased CliffDweller and will be continuing to deliver it to your door. It is a good transition time for both of us, and so I will be stepping aside for the new publication staff.

It has been my enormous pleasure to bring you CliffDweller Magazine for the past two years. I have enjoyed learning even more about this area that we all love and call home, and I will continue to reside proudly in the hood. Even though I won’t be your editor anymore,
I hope to continue to...

See you round the Cliff.
